It is a great pleasure for me to inform you about a new organizational scheme provided by ENIL for the year 2010. First of all let me introduce you to the new organizational structure that will provide an implementation of the EDFEO (Enil Driving Force for Equal Opportunities) work plan for 2010. ENIL will operate through four different groups (pods). This means that ENIL Secretariat in Valencia will represent a coordinator for Southern Europe; other three pods will be spread across Europe which will secure a presence of ENIL in Northern, Western and Eastern Europe.
Coordinator for Eastern European pod is YHD - Association for Theory and Culture of Handicap which will be coordinating the Eastern European pod from Ljubljana, Slovenia. Eastern European pod will include the following countries: Hungary, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia and Bulgaria
The main tasks of EDFEO work plan for 2010, that will be coordinated by YHD are as follows, to put a structure on Personal Assistance Service especially the practical aspects of operating a Personal Assistance Service, to explore how ENIL can educate governments specifically on the area of Independent Living and to examine how the European Parliament supports Independent Living especially in relation how the funds are distributed in Eastern European Countries.
The main purpose of this programme is to achieve better mutual understanding and cooperation within the countries in the region. This is even more important because the differences in development and implementation of Personal Assistance service within the region are substantial. That is way we are expecting your inputs, we are of course coordinators but we can only be successful with cooperation between us and organizations from your countries. The synergy that could be achieved through mutual cooperation can be used as a Platform for exchanging of good practices, as a way of pressure on the decision makers and much more.
In short this means that YHD will inform you about all the activities in the areas of Personal Assistance, Funding, Transnational Networking, Growing membership and other Promotion. By active participation from your side you will be able to provide us with information, examples from your country, which will be published in ENIL monthly Newsletter.

• Follow-up Strasbourg Freedom Drive 2009
• Follow-up of EU Commission Action Plan
• Support to National Marches for Independence
• Support for international and national Round Tables
• Feed in to Disability Rights Watch Dog
• Contribution for twice a month Newsletter
• Initiation and collaboration in ENIL Press releases
• Establishment and follow-up of Blogs for the region
• Support and development of ENIL e-Training
• Building of ENIL ambassadorship.
In order to achieve the work plan we first have to create contacts from National Organizations or Civil Society groups of the above mentioned states, which will provide us with relevant and accurate information about the status of the areas of P. A. and funding in your country.
We are referring to you as a possible national representative in Eastern European group. Please respond or send us a suggestion who could be the national representative in your Country. Regarding the fact that we don’t have all the necessary contacts from all the countries, we would also like to ask you to inform us about any possible contacts that you might have.
