The
centre of the city is accessible for wheelchair users, but the streets are
paved, so be prepared for some shaking. Lodgings in the centre of the city are
very expensive and usually inaccessible; therefore we recommend a proven tactics
of renting a room outside the city (which will not be an issue, as longer walks
are not a problem in times of holiday).
The
address of the landlady is: Marina Givricin E. Zadro 8, 52210 Rovinj, the phone
number is: 00385 52 814 940. Upfront reservations are recommended, since the
room is often rented in advance. The rooms are large and modestly furnished with
an adapted restroom (especially for paraplegics). If you pay an additional fee,
a dinner can be provided as well (heartily recommended, as the owner is a great
cook, especially with regards to sea food). The beach is only about a hundred
yards down the road, in the old hospital of Rovinj. You can use a deck chair and store your things in a beach
hut, so that you do not have to bring your towels etc. every day. Access to the
water is fine. There is also a very beautiful walking park with a nice view on
the sea and Rovinj.
