The
company has eighty vehicles, seven of which are monospaces and can carry six
more persons not including the driver and a disabled person. Transportation of a
disabled person is organized with a Ford Galaxy with the back seats removed, so
that the extra space is available for the wheelchairs. However, this service is
not perfect as they do not have a ramp, which means that the person must be
transferred to a seat. This poses a huge setback for some people and for
electric wheelchair users (especially the ones with heavy wheelchairs)
transportation is impossible. Company rules anticipate driver's help if the
passenger is handicapped, pregnant, elderly and if the passenger is a child or a
patient... the passengers are also entitled to special treatment, such as help
with entering and exiting the vehicle, escort to reception, a hospital,
apartment... All these services are free of
charge.
Taxi
company INTERTOURS plans to buy a vehicle with special equipment designed for
transportation of disabled persons. The vehicle will also include a lift which
will raise the client together with his or her wheelchair into the vehicle.
However this does not depend only on the company. An arrangement must first be
made with certain organizations such as The Institute for Rehabilitation... so
that such organizations will help to promote our company and justify the
purchase of such a vehicle.
INTERTOURS does not provide special discounts for disabled
persons, as our prices are supposed to be the lowest in
Ljubljana as it is. However other services, mentioned earlier are
available (such as help with entering and exiting the vehicle, escort...), which
are not included into our fares. Every kilometre covered by an ordinary vehicle
costs 138 SIT, the price for monospace vehicles is 190 SIT. Another advantage is
fixed costs (2490 SIT) if our services are used for more than 50 kilometres and
if one has to wait. The ride back is, in this case, free of charge. INTERTOURS
is specialized in charging by means of order forms, which means that when
companies decide to pay in this form, INTERTOURS will be making notes and
provide a receipt for the covered mileage at the end of the
month.
INTERTOURS is not directly connected with any of the
organization for disabled persons, since we are not 100% equipped for their
transportation. There does not seem to be much interest in this, which is also
the reason, why companies generally do not purchase the necessary equipment.
However, our drivers are obliged to help disabled persons whenever they call
them. All
of the company's eighty vehicles are equipped with a machine for paying the
fares through a mobile phone on condition that the client has signed a contract
with Mobitel d.d. It is not possible to use this service if the client uses
another provider of mobile services, such as Simobil, Vega, Debitel... It must
be pointed out that there is a price difference if the taxi is ordered by phone
or if it is engaged while being parked, waiting for clients. If the
transportation is ordered by phone or if the client has the company's business
card, then the costumer is entitled to a 27% discount.
